TN CM Ordered appointment of guest lecturers

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has ordered the appointment of 1,623 guest lecturers in government colleges as it could take some time to fill 841 posts of assistant professor as planned in the next three years.
The guest lecturers will be appointed immediately on a consolidated sum of Rs. 10,000 per month, says an official release. In the past two years, 22 university-constituent colleges, three engineering colleges and seven polytechnics have been set up.
Besides, 299 new undergraduate and postgraduate courses have been started in 51 colleges.
The government has announced the creation of 369 posts of assistant professor in 2012-13, another 365 posts in 2013-14 and 107 posts the following year.
